Biography
Catalina Gonz谩lez-Due帽as' research focuses on enhancing the resilience of infrastructure and communities to extreme events such as hurricanes, flooding, and extreme winds. She applies probabilistic methods and artificial intelligence to assess risks under multi-hazard conditions, with a particular emphasis on the dynamic interactions among built, natural, and social systems that drive cascading impacts.
Her work lies at the intersection of structural engineering, probabilistic hazard analysis, artificial intelligence, and risk-informed decision-making to understand, mitigate, adapt to, and respond to the complex challenges posed by extreme events鈥攏ow and in the future.
