Kenneth A. Reinert is Professor of Public Policy at the Schar School of Policy and Government of º£½ÇÉçÇø. He received a School of Public Policy Distinguished Teaching Award in 2003 and has served as Director of the from 2007 to 2010 and 2013 to 2025.

Professor Reinert received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland and held the positions of Senior International Economist at the US International Trade Commission and Associate Professor of Economics at Kalamazoo College. He has consulted for the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, the OECD Development Centre, and the US Department of Commerce.

Professor Reinert has published over 90 papers in professional journals and edited volumes in the areas of international trade, economic development, and environmental policy. He is author of The Lure of Economic Nationalism: Beyond Zero Sum (Anthem Press, 2023, 2025), An Introduction to International Economics: New Perspectives on the World Economy (Cambridge University Press, 2012, 2021), and No Small Hope: Towards the Universal Provision of Basic Goods (Oxford University Press, 2018), and co-author of Globalization for Development: Meeting New Challenges (Oxford University Press, 2012). These books have been translated into Spanish, French, Italian, Polish and Chinese.

Professor Reinert is editor of the Handbook of Globalisation and Development (Edward Elgar, 2017) and co-editor of Applied Methods for Trade Policy Analysis: A Handbook (Cambridge University Press, 1997) and the two-volume Princeton Encyclopedia of the World Economy (Princeton University Press, 2009). He is also editor of Cambridge Elements in International Economics.
