�������� honored its largest ever graduating class at Spring Commencement, turning the event’s “This Is Your Moment” theme into a tassel-turning time to remember for a record-breaking class of more than 12,000 degree and certificate earners.

Spring 2025 Commencement at �������� on May 15 at EagleBank Arena celebrated more than 12,000 graduates and certificate recipients. Graduates hailed from 117 countries, 49 states, and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and military installations. George Mason photographers captured the excitement and spirit of the day.

Third-generation builder/developer Robert E. “Bob” Buchanan will receive the George Mason Medal, ��������’s highest honorary award, at the 2025 Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 15, at EagleBank Arena.

�������� will celebrate Spring Commencement on Thursday by honoring a record-setting number of students earning degrees, and nearly 12,106 students total will be recognized for earning degrees or certificates.

At its May 1 meeting, the �������� Board of Visitors (BOV) voted 10-4 to keep in-state tuition flat for the 2025-26 academic year, citing the university’s standing as an affordable option for students and families across the commonwealth, and approved a tuition increase for out-of-state students as well as an increase in mandatory student fees for all students.

The ADVANCE Program, a highly successful transfer partnership between Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and ��������, is showcased in the newly released Transfer Playbook 2.0, a joint publication of the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program and the Community College Research Center.

Martina Cheung, president and CEO of S&P Global, will be the featured speaker at ��������’s Spring Commencement on May 15 at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax ��������.

The evening raised $162,500 and featured a cocktail reception, dinner on Merchant Hall Stage, special tributes to Honorees Marion Wall and Dominion Energy, a lively after-party, and more.

�������� Korea and the U.S. Embassy Seoul recently hosted the 2025 U.S.–Republic of Korea (ROK)–Japan Young Trilateral Leaders (YTL) Regional Workshop Series on the Mason Korea campus. The workshop featured sessions on peace technology led by experts from the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason and the Faculty of Letters at Soka University in Japan.

�������� received a gift with an impact of $36 million from the Kimmy Duong Foundation to name the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong School of Computing within the College of Engineering and Computing. The university’s Board of Visitors approved the name change on April 1, and it will become official pending approval from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia this summer.
