Mason alumni and friends gathered at the Fairfax �������� on Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, to celebrate the impending Investiture of Mason’s eight president, Dr. Gregory Washington.

The new MIX space is open in the brand-new state-of-the-art Horizon Hall.  MIX stands for “Mason Innovation Exchange” and is a place for creators, makers, innovators and entrepreneurs.

The Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PFP), created by CHSS Dean Ann L. Ardis, allows participants to continue their research and teach two classes per semester on a 12-month contract.

President Washington spoke on Oct. 14 at a Mason Korea event in Horizon Hall on the Fairfax ��������, as part of a week-long series of events celebrating his Investiture. Participants gathered in person and virtually from the Mason Korea ��������.

The Pistone family from Ohio received the 11th annual Alan and Sally Merten Family of the Year Award at Mason’s Family Weekend.

The global pandemic has brought mental health and well-being to the forefront, and Mason provides a variety of services and strategies to the community for addressing those challenges.

A cultural immersion trip in 2008 brought Charles Davidson (PhD ’19) inside the walls of San Pedro prison in La Paz, Bolivia. What he saw there not only changed his life, he said, but ignited a spark of inspiration that led to peacebuilding efforts around the world.

President Gregory Washington will lead two star-studded faculty panels as part of his Investiture activities next week. Both panels will be in Merten Hall, Room 1201, and can be seen live on GMU-TV.

�������� has partnered with local and state economic development organizations, innovative corporations, and a small army of judges and mentors for Accelerate 2022, a venture capital conference threaded with tech, innovation, entrepreneurship, and business community engagement.

As a 2021 WW Pennsylvania Teaching Fellow, Mason alum Alexander Kruszewski will teach for three years in high-need Pennsylvania public schools.
