CVPA faculty

  • Julie Thompson, Executive Director of the Center for the Arts at º£½ÇÉçÇø, joined the university more than fifteen years ago after a career as a professional stage manager in regional theater and opera, including long-term residencies at Minnesota Opera, Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap Opera, and Center Stage in Baltimore. 

  • Debra Smyers has over 30 years of experience within the arts and social services sectors. Currently, Ms. Smyers serves as the executive director of Fauquier Community Theatre; enriching, entertaining, and educating audiences through a variety of live theatre productions and special programs that enhance the cultural life of the community for all ages.

  • Victoria Salmon is an adjunct faculty member for the Arts Management program. She is the Associate Dean, Emerita, Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Arts at Mason Board

  • Jennifer Rosenfeld joined the Arts Management program for the Spring 2014 semester in addition to her duties as Associate Director of Educational Programs for the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media (CHNM) at George Mason.

  • William Reeder's accomplishments include being the former dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts; vice president and general manager of the Washington Performing Arts Society; establishing the Sallie Mae Trust for Education at Sallie Mae; executive director of the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C.; president of the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music; executive director of Opera Music Theatre International; and the Newark Community School of the Arts.

  • Amanda has been teaching college-level courses for 13 years in video editing, sound recording and mixing and post-production. 

  • Benjamin Steger has been making films and videos since the 1990’s. He has considerable experience as a director, producer, documentary cinematographer, editor, and sound recordist for documentary, fiction and institutional films.

  • Mary Lechter, (BA University of Maryland) is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in Theater and Speech Communications, Mary has been working professionally as an actor since 1985 in the Metropolitan Washington area, Los Angeles, and New York.

  • Linda G. Miller is a Professor in the School of Dance and a Distinguished Service Professor at º£½ÇÉçÇø. 

  • Eamonn is a multidisciplinary award-winning designer with a professional concentration on user experience and interface visual design. Eamonn has worked throughout his career in a variety of roles as a designer, art director, and creative director for national and international brands including the U.S. Army, Gannett, USA Today, The Detroit Free Press, WUSA9, PayPal, and Capital One.
