Students from ��������’s Department of Nutrition and Food Studies recently visited the men and women of Fairfax Fire Station 33. They taught the firefighters about responsible nutrition habits and cooked nutritious meals for them in the station’s kitchen.

A group of �������� mechanical engineering students are building a motorized Vitruvian man for a Center for the Arts (CFA) performance of "Flying to the Stars," a choral concert dedicated to the beginnings of flight from the time of Leonardo da Vinci to the exploration of space.

Award-winning journalist, broadcast host, and filmmaker Rokhaya Diallo is ��������’s 2024 Sojourner Truth Lecture speaker and award recipient.

�������� has retained its “green light” rating from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) and College Pulse, the organization’s highest rating for free speech protection. The foundation also had previously ranked George Mason as No. 8 in the nation for protecting free speech rights.

Mason alum Jada Salter has created a feature-length documentary about her grandfather, award-winning composer and songwriter William (Bill) Salter. The film is called "Just the Two of Us" after his Grammy Award-winning hit song.

Kayla Moore sees testing for sexually transmitted diseases as a key part of public health, and the doorway to a healthy community. Moore is currently getting her Master of Clinical Social Work at ��������’s College of Public Health, and in recognition of the 25th anniversary of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, has organized a two-part event at Mason’s Fairfax �������� that speaks to public health.

Mason Creative Writing Professor Tania James is having an amazing year. Since her novel Loot was released by Knopf in June 2023, the accolades haven’t stopped.
