Mason PhD student Jehad Halawani became acutely aware of educational inequality when she began teaching high school physics in her home country of Palestine, where infrastructure is lacking and resources are scarce.

Students and faculty collaborated to create UNIV 381: Foundations for Building a Just Society, a three-credit class that fulfills two Mason Core requirements—global understanding and social/behavioral sciences—and is projected to evolve over time into a required course for all students.

�������� Provost and Executive Vice President Mark Ginsberg announced on Wednesday that Marie alice Arnold will serve as interim executive director of the Global Education Office (GEO). Currently associate director of GEO, Arnold will assume her new position later this month.
